Swing open the hinged door to a new place

Traditional designs never go out of fashion. They change their outlook and stay around until the trend catches up again. As a family of 6, we hardly used our second garage for any purpose to park vehicles and it was in dire need of a new door. The house being in a farm had not seen a new door since it construction. We wanted to keep it simple, yet safe and easy to use for any member of the house without any intricate mechanisms to operate the door. The garage was being used as a part storage place and part place for kids to enjoy time and inside space if they wished so.

The choice we made for our Garage Doors Austin had to be easy to use for our growing up kids and we had to ensure it was safe for them to enter and leave. We got our garage fitted with Side Hinged Garage Doors. While these are traditional, the door provides for safety and is yet modern in their aesthetics. Also, maintenance hassles are greatly reduced. We can access the garage without opening up the whole panel which means it is easier to access and use for our daily needs.

Materials you can use

Any material can be used for making the traditional hinged doors since the technology enables you to get the finish you want for your door. We preferred the traditional wood designed doors but used a good quality wood that would not go bad for a long period with its exposure to rugged use and a whole variety of weather. You can choose the wood you want. Most professionals, we went to have a whole range to choose from and they guided us to make a choice as well. If you are also looking for options, ask questions and enquire around before making a choice.

Worried about size?

You can get a Overhead Door Austin in the standard size of up to 10 feet (3048 mm) wide and 8 feet high (2438 mm).  You can set the door to 50/50 split that is most commonly used design, the one even we settled on. One can also choose from 1/3 and 2/3 opening in most designs. The latter choices offer a solution for frequent access and means that the whole door need not be opened for access each time you have some work in the garage.

Need help fitting Up and Over garage doors, here is how

You may have had garage doors that are normal styled and with rollers or sections to deal with. But with Up and over Garage Austin, the ball game is different when installing them. Normal styled garage doors usually are one piece and come with a single frame. When up and above doors are lifted, it is the whole thing that goes up and above your head. For security reasons, these are the best garage doors you could think of having, however, DIY techniques used on them aren’t that friendly. This is because fitting them takes all your energy away. So here we are to help you make things easy, hence please read on and be well informed for the same.

Decide which door you want

There are two types of such doors you would find online and in the market, the canopy which would be best to use, if you have an opening for single cars, and wouldn’t go higher than eight feet that too. And the other style would be a retractable garage door, which is large and has mechanized options to use. This is why we would like you to judge which one actually serve your needs well, and then invests in one. For this you should pen down the measurements of the frame on the garage door, so that the measurements are accurate. You should have a sub frame to get the installation done. This would allow you to install the actual door at the opening or maybe behind the frame.

Does the frame allow the door to fit well?

When you have the new door set up, the door needs to be fit in the opening. The sub frame railings have to be positioned well, this would be on the frame of the garage door. Get the location marked so that the bolt holes can be ascertained, and which wouldn’t give you trouble putting in the mount brackets too.

Installing the frame

While setting up the Up and over Overhead Door Austin, get holes drilled in the concrete where you made the marks and with the help of a hammer drill, get started with the drilling. The rails of the frame need to be positioned and bolts should be used to secure it all. The top rails then would need to be secured to the ceiling, and metal tubes can be used for the same for more secure features. Get the top rails help with a support and take the lag bolt to drive it in, which would allow you to position and hold it well. The rail would now be secure and in sync with the vertical rails using the hardware you have. Ensure that the level is maintained and that it supports the top rail well.

Check what the expert has to say on choosing the right up and over Aaction Overhead Door. Now that you have been told how to install it, you should also know how to select the right one, isn’t it!!
